This class is for those who want to try a non-traditional approach to visual composition. If you have some familiarity with basic principles of composition but would like to take your work in a more personal direction, this class will get you on your way.
We will intentionally throw compositions off balance, obliterate focal points, create pieces that do not hang together in a unified way, and ones that are as uninteresting as possible. This class includes an extensive handout (downloadable upon registration) that outlines the basic principles of composition, a few “rules” in the form of a check-list, examples of compositional types, and several approaches to coming up with compositional ideas.
This workshop is six lessons, each consisting of of illustrated instructions in pdf format, and a video demonstration. All the lessons and video links are included in the package. Enjoy!
